2018 Summer Concert Series

Concerts are held Wednesdays on the Village Green from 7 – 8pm. In the event of rain, they will be moved indoors to the Center for the Arts.

** This year, the Farmers Market on the Village Green will stay open until 7pm on concert nights. Grab some farm fresh food and enjoy a quality show!**

June 27 – The Cortland Old Timers Band was born in 1911 and boasts approximately 60 volunteer members, ages 14 to 87. Their selections range from traditional marches, overtures, and patriotic songs, to popular Broadway, movie, and folk music selections.

July 4 – Casey Max and the DixieKats has a combined musical history of hundreds of years of individual playing experience in a wide variety of musical styles. These seasoned players have come together to offer New Orleans Style Gumbo and Jazz music.

July 11 – Molly and the Badly Bent Bluegrass Boys are a high-energy, traditional style bluegrass band with a modern flair. Molly and the Boys combine a reverence for the traditional bluegrass sound exemplified by Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs and Del McCoury, and genre pushing contemporaries such as Hot Rize and Della Mae to create their own sound.

July 18 – Stiv Morgan is a singer-songwriter with a list of influences as unique as his sound. Stiv followed the Grateful Dead, Billy Joel, The Allman Brothers, James Taylor, Blues Traveler and Dave Matthews Band before taking up a singing career himself.  He has now been writing and performing his brand of American Roots music for over a decade.

July 25 – The Ageless Jazz Band has been fortunate enough to entertain dancers and jazz fans from all over the world on the Caribbean island of Aruba. People come from far and wide to hear their swinging saxophone section, triumphant brass, solid rhythm section, and stylish vocals.

August 1 – Travis Rocco has shared the stage with artists such as the Grammy Award winning band Switchfoot, Steven Page (formerly of Barenaked Ladies), and Dropkick Murphys. While focusing on original material, Travis also has an arsenal of popular and modern cover songs in his set that will delight any crowd.

August 8 – The Hilltoppers have played neo-traditional bluegrass with an edgy hard driving style for over 20 years. They mix traditional bluegrass standards with songs from The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Stones, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, BB King, Kate Wolf, and more.

August 15 – Chris Merkley, a Homer graduate, has performed over a thousand shows across both Europe and the United States. He has released nine albums with a variety of groups which including Merkley & Morgan, The Crooners, and Digger Jones.
