Yesterday my wife and I visited Homer with my aunt. My mother's family (from Syracuse) would go to Homer to pick beans. As close as I could guess this was in the late thirties. My aunt is the youngest and she was about 8 years old at the time. The camp where they stayed was located in a field behind an octagonal building which was recently an antique store. Is there any infomation about this? nickreda@juno.com

Don't you think that something needs to be done about this? And just how much Fluoride is being put in the water? I think as a community we should be concerned and work together to change these things.
Hi,
I really love this little area, but I'd like it even more if I could get some info on real estate for sale or rental in or around the area. My daughter goes to TC-3, so I drive down a few times a year and now i am thinking of relocating. Of course the need of employment is still there, as I am not retired yet!
I would hope that there will be job openings soon in the school systems, as I am just completing my Teaching Assistant Certificate at the present time. I also manage 2 farmers markets here, so maybe i could fit into the one in your area!
Looking forward to hearing back from anyone that might have a 0ne or 2 bedroom rental available shortly. I have excellent references, I am honest, reliable, and a quiet person.
The Cemetery is not cataloged on line. If you have the names of family that you believe may be buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer NY you could mail them to Village of Homer 53 South Main Street, Homer, NY 13077.
Hello to my classmates. Sorry we could not make the reunion. We are now living in Palmer, Alaska and it is just too far away to drive home. I have been looking for Jim or Jeff Maxon. Has anyone heard from them. We hope everyone is doing well. Stay in touch. Fred and Marianne (Marks) DeHart
What a beautiful place you have! My People settled there in 1799 and I was wondering if anyone has cataloged the old cemeteries online. If it is convenient, please advise. Thank you.
Class of '79 will be having an informal reunion on Friday July 29, 2011. It will be at the downtown Cortland outdoor music event, on Main Street in Cortland. Just show up and wish each other happy 50th birthday!
Thanks.

Looking for my son Paul Bowles Jr. I was married to his mother briefly in 1968. The family was Frank and Mildred Mitchell and they used to live on Church St in Virgil. Can anyone help me with information? After Joan and I divorced she married Ron Darling from Virgil. don't know where they may have moved to. My E-mail is included in this post.
Thanks Paul B
I am searching for my great grandfather William Winchell. He was born in 1866 in Tully, NY to Joseph and Hulda Winchell. He was married to Carrie Clark Winchell and then divorced. He then from what I can find married a woman named Elizabeth who was his secretary and from what I can find on cenuses resided in Homer, NY. Does anyone know how I would go about finding out about him and when he may have died and where he could be buried. He is the las link in my family I can not locate.
Hello Homer NY. Graduated in 1978, joined the Airforce and traveled the world and I’d like to say there is no place I’d rather come back to visit other than good ole Homer NY. Lot’s of found memories there. Any Grads from class of 78 out there?
I came across you site while doing genealogy research. My great-great grandparents, John and Sarah Alderman lived in both Homer and Tully. I hope I can get to see your town when we visit family in Seneca Falls this summer. Sharon Dolan – St. Louis, MO
Just love how people on our street think they own it. never see any patrol cars come down through here so they think think they can park right under the no parking sign. it makes it so hard to get in and out of our driveway. as i am typing this they are parked right in the street. they seem to sit there all day without any concern of how others may use the street. i know our bridge is now closed but gees give me a break already. i leave for work at 5:45 am and still have to fight around their vehicle.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone from back home who might remember me. As we’re growing older, many of us have lost one or both of our parents. And sadly, we’ve started losing our classmates, too. I’m from the Class of 1976. Living away from Homer for so many years, I don’t really know who from among my class is no longer with us. Can anyone fill in the details? I’d like to say a prayer for those we’ve lost. Thanks so much.
To Doug Cote: I was an online friend to Joyce Cote for several years until she just suddenly “disappeared”. I read here that your house is up for sale. I’m so sorry to hear that. I know how Joyce loved her house and Homer. If you see this please have Joyce email me at itsmebobg@aol.com (this is my husband’s email address). My name is Jean and Joyce and I have a lot of catching up to do.

Hope all is well w/you and yours.

My Grandmother Ruth Huntington Died in 1977 in Cortland, NY. There used to be a Huntington farm in the early 1900′s in or around Homer. I would like to visit or live in Cortland to look at the old Huntington bural site in a cemetary. It must be somewhere around in the area.
My 100 year old aunt recently passed away in Townsend, Mass – in her garage was a sled …. “Homer Wagon Company, Homer, NY” – its a beauty – I couldn’t find any information about it.
after 35 years in Homer, raising a famiy, shoveling a million tons of snow, fate has forced me to move to find a new job.
36 Cayuga St is up for sale.
I thought i would grow old and die in that house.
Memories and attachments are strong, I will miss everything that is Homer.
I visited Homer every summer when young, last time was 1967, My grandma had a place on Searles rd, she raised turkeys for a couple of years, My aunt Mary lived on James St. with her daughter Dody. Dody married a guy whose last name was rainbow. Her previous boyfriend was shot in the head in the sixties, cannot remember his name, I think I still have relatives in the Homer area, One whose name I remember is Penny . My Grandma's name was Ella Carver, and her last husbands name was fred, both are buried in the Homer cemetary. If anyone remembers please e-mail me at mtt9397@cs.com.

I find it very troubling the things that I see in the quality of Homer's drinking water. We are literally drinking water contaminated with industrial waste. After a short google search I was able to pull up this information from the following link.
